I don't know yet if this will turn into anything, but I learned the beginning of crocheting today!
One of my Student Council kids stayed after school and showed me. She is good at all things sewing and was a great teacher. I'm not sure if I was a great student- I felt very clumsy trying to hold everything at once.
Anyway, this is how far I got- the photo for day 3. Not very far, I know, but I told her I would practice a little more tonight and try to have a few rows to show her tomorrow. Wish me luck.
EXIF info:
Canon T2i
Tokina macro lens 100 mm f 2.8
1/50 sec ISO 3200
I think this is a fairly decent picture, not one of my favorites though.
What I could have done differently: I think this picture is a little too bright/blown out. I should have brought the ISO down a little bit or upped the shutter speed to try and capture more detail. I also wish I would have used a smaller aperture so that all of the crochet chain was all in focus and not just primarily the numbers on the crochet hook.
I may retry a similar shot to try and get it a little better.
I'm having great fun at this so far. I know it's only day 3, but I am thinking all day about what I'm going to shoot that night and it's making me get excited about getting the camera out and actually trying some shot I wouldn't have done before.
Hey friend! Fun blog. I want in on this little project of yours and Mendy!

ReplyDeleteFun hobby...I tried to learn once never learned to do the second row and ended up with a long long string. I'm putting in my order for a scarf!
