Day 121/365 A trip to Wonderland

Prom was last night and I was a chaperone because my friend Sairee needed help with her 1st time as prom coordinator.  I usually just show up for a while and walk around taking pictures of the kids and hanging out, then I end up at Steak N Shake with Jeannie and Joi and whoever wants to tag along.
I showed up around 4:30 and began to help fluff out centerpieces, then helped re-hang gossamer that had fallen.  Before I knew it, it was time to post door-duty and watch for wristbands as the kids went in.
I was really ready to leave about 8pm because I've been so tired lately, but I didn't want to leave her in a big mess at the end. I've been there when it's midnight and everybody says, "I gotta go, I've got a big day tomorrow" and there's still an hour's worth of work to be done.
I managed to stay til the end and then started ripping down the "rabbit hole" a little before the dance was over.  I just wanted to get it over with.
I did have a great time with my fellow teacher-friends.  It's always a good time when you can just talk to them in a normal environment instead of bustling through the halls with the quick wave and a "hi".  The whole place looked gorgeous, and I know that our school has the prettiest prom that could ever be.  Our homecomings are quickly taking that status as well... ;)

  2. Wow...those kids are very lucky to have such a great prom. It really looks like an important formal event with the dramatic lighting and all.

You are under orders to take care of yourself, Madame! I don't like hearing that you're tired so much...weary is more like it. Orders! Do you hear me??

PS....that comment on today's picture made me smile and smile.
